Listing your game store on Cardboardmarket
If you run a card shop, you can have a verified store profile on Cardboardmarket.
This guide covers the four steps, what you get exactly, and what you do not get — because the second half matters just as much before you spend ten minutes on it.
What a verified store is
A store is not a different kind of account. It is your ordinary account wearing a store profile: the same listings, the same trades, the same conversations. What changes is that your profile carries the Verified store badge and your exact, public address.
That last part is a deliberate exception, and it is worth explaining. Nobody on Cardboardmarket has a place name — no neighbourhood, no municipality, no province, no postcode. A person's location is a point and a distance, nothing else, because a place name cannot answer "can I go and get it?" and it is personal data with no job to do.
A store is a business asking to be found, whose address is already on its own door. That is why this one address is shown in full.
What you need before you start
An ordinary free account at app.cardboardmarket.xyz. That is all: no business registration, no subscription, no contract.
And one thing worth knowing sooner rather than later: your store's location is the point you have set right now. The easiest thing is to apply while standing in the shop. If you apply from home, move your location pin to the premises first.
1. Create the account and set your point
Sign up like anybody else. When it asks where you are, either let the browser say or drop the pin on the map.
An address is never typed for this. The point is what the map writes, and it is what your store's position will be.
2. Open your profile
The person icon at the top right, or Profile in the menu.
3. Fill in the application
Find A game store and press Apply as a store. Four fields, two of them optional:
| Field | What goes in it | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Store name | What it is really called, 2 to 80 characters | Yes |
| Address | What somebody reads to find the door | Yes |
| Phone | The business number, not your personal one | No |
| Website | The shop's, starting with http:// or https:// | No |
4. Send it
The state becomes Waiting to be checked: a person looks at it by hand. Meanwhile your account works exactly as before, and nothing yet says you are a store.
What you get once it is verified
Three concrete things:
- The badge and the address on your profile. Anybody opening your profile sees Verified store, the exact address, a link to open it in maps, and your phone number if you gave one.
- You appear as a place to meet. When two people near you agree a trade and pick where to meet, your shop is one of the options. Somewhere public, indoors and open to everyone is exactly what somebody wants who would rather not meet in a doorway.
What you do not get
This is the part usually left out:
- The money for a trade does not pass through us. We store no cards and act as nobody's intermediary: the two people settle it in person, exactly as if they bought it over your counter. That is how a trade works here, not a fee we could change.
- Listing and trading are free. We charge nothing to post, nothing to trade, and take no percentage of any deal. If anything ever costs money it would be separate and optional, and this page would say so before a penny changed hands.
Your store's address is public. Your home's is not
Worth saying plainly, because they are two different things on the same profile.
The store address is exact and public: that is its job. Your own personal point keeps working like anybody else's — it comes back to you rounded to about 100 metres so you can see your pin on your own map, the exact value never leaves the server, and nobody else's travels at all, at any precision.
And distances are never reported below a kilometre anywhere: it reads "less than 1 km", never a number that points at a door.
Questions we get
Does it cost anything? Listing and trading are free, and we take no cut of any deal.
Do I need a registered business? We do not check paperwork. We check that the address exists and is somewhere a person can walk to.
Can I have two shops on one account? No. One account is one store. Two premises are two accounts.
I sell online and have no premises. Then this is not for you, and that is fine: you can sell like anybody else. The badge says "there is a door to walk through", and with no premises there is nothing to confirm.
Spain only? No. Cardboardmarket works anywhere: there are no shipments to arrange and no customs to clear, only two people meeting. If we talk about Spain a lot, that is where we are from, not how far it reaches.
What if I close? Write to us and we will remove it. There is currently no button for doing it yourself, and we would rather say so than leave you looking for one.
