Instant sync of a CardTrader sale

If you sell on CardTrader and on Cardboardmarket at once, there is a window where a card sold there is still advertised here. This guide closes it: how to have CardTrader tell us the moment a card sells, in four steps.

We already sync your stock every five minutes once your account is connected. This cuts those five minutes down to seconds. It is optional.

Why five minutes matters

Online, five minutes of lag is an order you have to cancel. In a hand-to-hand trade it is somebody getting on a bus to collect a card you no longer have.

It is the same problem described in The same card, sold twice, and this is the part that actually fixes it in one direction: what you sell on CardTrader disappears from here without you doing anything.

Before you start

You need your CardTrader account connected in your shop's dashboard. If you have no shop here yet, start by listing your game store.

Two things worth knowing:

The four steps

1. In your shop's dashboard, open The store and scroll to Synchronisation. If you already have an address it sits under Your address, with a button beside it to copy. If you do not have one yet, Show me how creates it there.

2. In CardTrader, open the account menu (top right) and choose Profile.

3. Find the APIs card — "Use our APIs to connect your tools".

4. Paste the address into Your webhook endpoint and press Save Webhook Endpoint.

How to tell it is working

Go back to Synchronisation. As soon as the first notice reaches us you will see "Working — the last notice arrived…" with a date and time.

Until then it says nothing has arrived, and that does not mean you set it up wrong: the notice only fires when something sells. CardTrader does not let us read which address you have configured, so the only proof that exists is a notice arriving.

How to remove it

In CardTrader, clear Your webhook endpoint and press Save Webhook Endpoint again. That is all — there is nothing to undo on our side.

Removing it does not disconnect your account or stop the sync. You go back to five minutes, which is where you were.

Which way this runs

One way: CardTrader tells us. What you sell there stops showing here.

Not the reverse. Selling a card on Cardboardmarket does not remove it from your CardTrader stock — that is a separate feature and it does not exist yet.
