Deleting your account
You can delete your Cardboardmarket account whenever you like, yourself, without asking us and without writing to anybody. This page explains how, and what goes with it, so you can read it before deciding — and also if you have already uninstalled the app.
How
From the app or the web. Sign in at app.cardboardmarket.xyz, open your profile and choose "Delete my account". It happens immediately and you do not need to tell us.
If you cannot sign in — you have lost the password, you no longer have the email address, or you would simply rather ask — write to [email protected] from the address you registered with. We will do it and confirm when it is done.
You do not need the app installed for either route.
What is deleted
- Your email address and your password.
- Your name, your public handle and your point on the map.
- The cards you posted and your wants lists.
- Your messages.
- The photographs you uploaded, including the ones you took scanning a card.
- Open trades are cancelled.
What is not deleted, and why
Trades that were completed. A finished trade is the record of an agreement between two people, and it belongs to the other one as well — they are entitled to keep what you agreed. Your name comes off it.
Conversations continue to exist for the other person, although your messages disappear from them.
Nothing that remains identifies you or can be used to find you again.
How long it takes
Deleting from your profile is immediate. If you ask us by email, we answer within 30 days at the outside — the limit the GDPR sets — though in practice it is much sooner.

This is a summary of one part of the privacy policy, which is the full document: what we keep, why, for how long, and who we share it with (nobody who uses it for their own ends). If the two pages ever disagree, the privacy policy is the one that counts — tell us and we will fix it.
